Job Description/Responsibilities/Requirements: Global, E-Commerce distribution company marketing software, computer accessories, peripherals and electronics is looking to fill a full-time position in Social Media Marketing.
The Social Media Marketing Candidate for SpaceBound, Inc. will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and will be responsible for the creation and execution of Social Media Marketing initiatives and content creation targeting a variety of customers on the Internet.
The successful candidate will be an expert in Social Media Marketing and have significant experience delivering high quality, interactive content, with an emphasis on retail sales generation and product and brand awareness activities. Strong written and communication skills, as well as substantive experience in initiating and managing social media strategies such as blogs, podcasts, and community and social networking sites are essential.
Responsibilities:
Define, plan, execute and manage social media strategies (including but not limited to: blogs, podcasts, community and social networking sites) in support of SpaceBound's current and strategic marketing initiatives.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Track, measure, and analyze social media metrics
- Develop content, dialogue and engagement plans for social spaces
- Publish daily content changes and the implementation of a future content management tool.
- Stay abreast of and maintain a deep knowledge of social media trends, strategies, platforms, tools, best practices, etc
- Utilize a variety of research techniques to understand and analyze online social media data and provide business insights
- Employ a variety of research techniques to understand and analyze online data and provide insight about relevant online conversations, voices in those conversations and the location of the conversations
- Measure the impact of social media on the overall marketing efforts
- Define opportunities for creating or engaging in online communities
- Assess new technology or tools to support key opportunities
- Develop social footprints to full define active discussion and opportunities in social communities, blogs, forums, media sharing and other online social environments – maintain an active pulse on activities in communities
- Keep up with industry trends and identify growth opportunities
- Dually focused on today – generating actionable social media deliverables – as well as tomorrow – thinking strategically and conceptually about long-term business needs and opportunities
Requirements:
- Minimum of one (1) year in ‘Social Media Marketing’ required
- 2-4 years in content management is preferred.
- Highly self-motivated and excellent attention to details
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Active experience and a high level of proficiency in using and marketing to social media networks: such as Facebook and Myspace - and blogs, bookmarking sites, video sites, etc. (including but not limited to: Twitter , Bebo, Digg, Del.icio.us, Facebook, MySpace, Squidoo, StumbleUpon,Technorati, YouTube, WordPress, FriendFeed, LinkedIn etc.)
- Have an established footprint in the Social Media space (through blogs, Twitter, Facebook, Digg, YouTube, etc.)
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the nuances between Social Media platforms and the communities they serve (EG: MySpace vs. Facebook or YouTube vs. Seesmic)
- Can cite examples of companies with successful social media programs and companies with ineffective social media programs and can argue comfortably why each was either successful or unsuccessful
- Has been active on Twitter for more than 8 months
- Employ a variety of research techniques to understand and analyze online data and provide insight about relevant online conversations, voices in those conversations and the location of the conversation
- Knows the leaders in Social Media
- Strong understanding of market research, consumer insights, social technologies and social monitoring tools
- Substantive knowledge of Search Engine Optimization is preferred. Plus, proficiency in generating content and managing content contributor relationships.
- Must be able to perform well in a dynamic and changing environment.
- Experience in acting in the role of a copywriter and editor - and working with the aforementioned
- Experience using automated content management systems is preferred. B.S./B.A. in marketing, business, journalism, or related field experience preferred.

Salary: This is a full-time salaried position. On average this position requires a 9am to 6pm commitment. Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience, Midwest region salaries and cost of living scale.
